Recent things

Macrame (aka shamballa) style bracelets have gotten more attention from me in the past few weeks. I have made a few of these bracelets, and some with the sliding knot closure. I hadn't crocheted anything in a while so I got busy with a hat for my mom's birthday gift (which also included a couple of bracelets and a pair of earrings). Today I am crocheting a hat from Rheathylia.com. I am using the Divine Hat pattern. The orange and black hats are basic beanies that I am trying out to use as part of a fundraiser for my daughter' band. Just thought I would pop in and share what I have been doing for the past month.

First day!

Ariel's first day of school went okay. After weeks of him being excited about school he did cry twice but said that he liked school. I'm so glad he has big bro Isaiah to show him the ropes. Happy to see that Adrienne is going back to band this year.

Working on a few things this weekend that should have been done, but as usual life gets in the way and has a habit of taking over. So now I'm back to work with more determinatiion to get things moving in a positive direction. Here are a couple of teaser pics...

Current Projects

I am still working on my leather handbag. I have 3, yes 3, of them almost done, pictures will be coming soon. And, because warmer weather is coming, I am working on making some cute little crochet slippers that I can wear that are not as thick as the ones that are for cold weather. I really don't like to wear shoes that much but now that it is getting warmer i know that I will only have on shoes (and maybe socks!) when I have to go out. As soon as I get to where ever I am going I want to be able to pull out a pair of slippers to put on so I can be totally comfy! All this and more to come!

Hides anyone?!?!?!

I am so excited!! My husband and I went to price some leather for a tote bag that I have been wanting to make for a couple of months. I thought that we were just going to find out how much it would be for enough to make one bag. When we got to the store, they had a sale on upholstery leather and he said that he would get me one. I didn't know that he meant he would get it today!! Yay me!! So now that I have the pattern all figured out, I can really check my measurements and make my final pattern. With the whole hide that we got I can make at least two of the large tote bags and a couple of smaller bags, then I can still make some smaller items too!! Can't wait to get started. I'll be posting pics of the whole hide as soon as I can, as well as pics from my progress on my bag.

Random Thoughts...

Thinking about all of the things that are going on right now. I will not dwell on the negative things that happen around me because I know that it will not do any good. I want to do so many things, but I have to be patient and allow my thought process to be complete and then things will go a lot more smoothly. I am researching a lot of things that I want to include in my upcoming ventures and narrowing down possibilities. Soon enough I think that with the proper planning, things will fall into order and I will have the peace that I am surely moving towards. I want to show my kids that if you work hard enough and smart enough that life will be very rewarding. I know that with the work that I am putting in (and a lot of prayer!), that things will be okay. Looking to get really busy with my jewelry making and natural bath and body products so that I can make them available to everyone. I am so excited for what this journey has in store for me.

I was trying to find a way to make a tool to loc my hair and I figured it out! Just cut down a plastic tapestry needle and when my hair gets longer then I can use a regular size needle.
